A big thank you to all those who supported this event last night at the Lighthouse, Petone. The Grand Budapest Hotel was an entertaining and slightly weird movie and it looked like a good time was had by all. Thanks also to Maggie Dyer and her team for organising the event and providing the supper.
Yes, it's that time of the year again and the major interclub competition of the year is nearly upon us. There are no precise details of the format at the moment but it usually involves three player teams and runs through to early October with a break in July for the school holidays. Some grades play on a Tuesday evening and some on a Wednesday evening. We will be looking for players of all ability levels to play for Empire in this competition, including higher graded juniors.
If you are interested please give your name to your session organiser or a Board member or email [email protected] More details will be circulated as soon as they become available. The Summer Interclub competition has now finished and although none of our teams struck gold there were plenty of good performances. Empire Entertainers and Empire Eagles finished second and third respectively in Division One and Empire Evils finished fourth in Division Two. Go to our interclub page to see how all our teams and players got on and the table tennis wellington website for details on the overall competition. Thanks to all those taking part.
A junior club newsletter was recently circulated to all those on our junior mailing list. For those of you who missed it, click here. To be added to the mailing list email [email protected]
