Winter Interclub Series One: Round #1 Summary

There were mixed results for our ten teams in the first week of Winter Interclub Series One, with Empire Eveready, Empire Elders, Empire Eagles, Empire Egrets and Empire Eels recording wins. Winter Club Series One Starts This Week!

Yes, the first series of Winter Interclub gets underway this week at our Stadium. Premier Grade and Division Two start on Tuesday (19th May) and Division One and Division Three start on Wednesday (20th May). We have entered ten teams this season, our gallant band of brothers and sisters are ready for the challenge and we wish them all the best. Check out our teams on our interclub page. 2015 Wellington Veterans Open Tournament: 23rd May

This tournament is open to all players who turn 40 or more this year. It is an Open tornament so players from outside Wellington can enter. Age categories are Over 40, Over 50, Over 60 and Over 70. Monday Night Coaching: A Reminder

A reminder that Coaching from Depak Patel is available on Monday nights. There are six 15 minute sessions available each Monday night from 8.30pm on a first-in-first-served basis although we will be monitoring to ensure everyone gets a chance. Depak is the Club Coach and has attained the ITTF (International Table Tennis Federation) Level 2 coaching qualification.

Midweek Club: A Fact Finding Mission

Last Thursday (30th April) your intrepid website custodian ventured out to test his creaking limbs and find out what our long running Midweek Club was all about. He and 56 other attendees had a great time. The Club caters for all levels of play from fairly social to pretty competitive and apart from morning tea you can continuously play from 9.00am to noon if you want, or take it a bit easier if you prefer. Because of the numbers attending a lot of doubles are played but it is possible to get some singles play as well. Thursday morning is run by Arthur Lee and is well organised in such a way that everybody gets as much table tennis as they want, playing with and against different opposition. The Club meets on Tuesdays too, when it is run by Merv Allardyce in a similar format. So if you have spare time on a Tuesday and/or Thursday morning you will be very welcome. PS Your custodian's limbs now both creak and ache but are on the improve! He will be attending again.
