As mentioned in the previous post, this annual event was held at Empire on 18th September, with 48 pairs competing. In addition to Empire member there were players from Kapiti, Levin, Masterton, Mount Victoria, Palmerston North, Tawa, Waikanae and Wanuiomata.
Players competed in eight groups. Successful Empire teams included: Warren Mak & David Chow: Winners, Group 1 Rob Chung & Paul Solt: Runners Up, Group 1 Norman Chan & Allen Tso: Winners, Group 2 Tina Ng & Anna Chung: Runners Up, Group 2 Kevin Tse & Buck Chan: Winners, Group 3 Bill Kilmartin & Kheng Tang: Winners, Group 6 Paul Maunsell & Percy Kwing: Runners Up, Group 7 Sean Gribbon & Bruce McKenna: Winners, Group 8 Penn Pattison & Emma Jin: Runners Up, Group 8 Congratulations to them and thanks to all members who supported the tournament. A great time was had by all at this annual event on 18th September which attracted nearly 100 entries. A reminder that our annual Midweek Doubles Tournament will take place on Thursday 18th September at Empire, commencing at 9.30am. This well run tournament is suitable for players of all levels of ability and attracts players from other clubs and regions.
