Ode To A Discarded Bat
At the back of the cupboard your station now
No cover to protect your power
Dusty
Crumbling sponge, handle split, mouldy blade
Mice teeth marks in your rubber
Munted

But it wasn't always like this
Remember those days long ago
Of glory
Flashing drives, vicious chops, stunning loops
Opponents vanquished and humbled
The crowd's acclaim

But no more
The game changed but you could not
